Tributary

It’s plain to see
The network of veins
Winding through the valley
And drowning the plains
A groove which moves through inverse Earth
Rushing toward the Delta
From the source of rebirth

Well, never mind me
Just a rippling channel
In a nexus of tributaries
Imagination irrigation of streams
Flooding vineyards of dreams
Mountains stand still, but I’m in a hurry
And probably will be for all eternity

Dust or nuggets
You just never know
Panning sentiments
For whatever seems to glow
Toes buried in sediment
Knee-deep in indigo
Always an experiment
In the Riverflow

From the highway to the byway
To the do, for there is no try way
Washing away dirt from derelict days
Splashing along in the bucket brigade
Scooping up sagas on slippery shores
To see if yesterday or tomorrow
Wants the memories more

Dripping from the depths,
Falling from above
Pooling out of wisdom
Pouring in through love
Circulating like the Earth’s own blood
And we build our cities between the floods
Running through consonants
And murmuring mud

Dust or nuggets
You just never know
Panning sentiments
For whatever seems to glow
Toes buried in sediment
Knee-deep in indigo
Always an experiment
In the Riverflow

Never mind me
Just a creature of reflection
Following path of least restriction
Living on friction
From the clouds to the mountains
Glyphic transcription
On the reeds which we read
In the name of fiction

Aeons ago
There was gold in those hills
Tumbled and crumbled by gravity’s will
Rumbling where ever there’s a fault to fill
But get the right light
And if the wind is still
The treasure is yours to hold or spill

Dust or nuggets
You just never know
Panning sentiments
For whatever seems to glow
Toes buried in sediment
Knee-deep in indigo
Always an experiment
In the Riverflow
